Our Story
It is no secret that when you empower a woman, you empower the nation. To maximize the benefits of women’s collective efforts, it is important to empower them using effective strategies that will equip them for economic development and household welfare. Unfortunately, there are a plethora of barriers and gender stereotypes that women face globally. In Africa specifically, women's economic contributions are hindered from early in their childhood as they are raised mostly for marriage and child-rearing, while basic education, personal development, entrepreneurship, and empowerment are often neglected. As a result of the vulnerabilities of the women in these communities, they are exposed to many challenges including early child marriage, enduring abusing relationships, sexual exploitation, etc. Our aim is to use our efforts to narrow this gap and empower them in society.
Among many attributes of a great and virtuous woman, one that stands out is that she is industrious and works with her hands to support herself and her family. Our efforts to empower struggling women is achieved through the three-step process outlined below:
Three-Step Process to Achieve the goal
1. Identify Skills & Passions.
In some cases, the rural environment equips women with certain experiences and skills that their urban counterparts may not have that they can expand and make a living from. Therefore, we will support these women to itemize their pre-existing skills, goals, passion, and strengths.
2. Skills Training
At this stage, the women would have mapped out a step process and planned for their end. We will then support them, at times in conjunction with local organizations, and equip them with one of the skills training courses of their choice.
3. Fair Start
Once they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge, we will offer them a fair start. This may include business project startup capital, referral to other supporting organizations, employment, etc.

Meet Sharon
Sharon is a remarkable woman from Uganda who has overcome many challenges in her life. Sharon had to drop out of school after primary education due to lack of resources. She suffers from chronic stomach pains that affect her daily activities. She struggles to provide food, clothes and other basic needs for herself and her family. we are appealing to you, our dear readers, to join us in partnering with Burden Bearers to assist Sharon. Meet Namugerwa
Meet Namugerwa, a high school student who has a bright future ahead of her. Miracle is one of the beneficiaries of Burden Bearers, an organization that cares for orphans, children and widows in Kyenjojo, Western Uganda. She hopes to finish school and excel more. However, Miracle also faces a serious challenge: she has an eye problem that affects her vision and learning. She needs medical attention and treatment to prevent further complications. Unfortunately, Miracle cannot afford the cost of eye care in Uganda, where poverty and disease are major problems. She needs your help to overcome this obstacle and achieve her dreams. That's why we are appealing to anyone who has a heart for orphans like Miracle to partner with us and help her get the eye care she needs. Your donation will make a difference in her life and in the lives of many other children and widows who benefit from Burden Bearers. Meet Bridget
Meet Bridget, a young woman who dreams of becoming a professional tailor. Bridget lives in Kirume, Uganda, where she faces many challenges and hardships. Her father abuses her and she has no access to quality education. She wants to learn how to sew so that she can earn a living and help hernfamily. That's why Burden Bearers, a non-profit organization that supports vulnerable women and children in Uganda, is sponsoring Bridget to join a sewing and tailoring project. This project will teach Bridget the skills she needs to make clothes and accessories, as well as how to manage a small business. Burden Bearers will also provide Bridget with a sewing machine, materials, and mentorship. Bridget is one of the many women who benefit from Burden Bearers; sewing and tailoring project. This project aims to empower women with vocational training and income-generating opportunities, as well as to improve their self-esteem and confidence. By learning how to sew, these women can create a brighter future for themselves and their families. You can be part of this amazing project by partnering with Burden Bearers. Meet Nadia
Meet Nadia, a remarkable woman who has faced many challenges in her life. She was born in 1997 in a rural village in Uganda, where she married young and had four beautiful children. However, her husband was abusive and left her for another woman, leaving her alone and without any support. She tried to find work, but it was hard to get by with four mouths to feed. She had no home of her own, no access to clean water, health care, or education. She struggles every day to survive and provide for her children. But Nadia does not give up hope. She dreams of a better future for herself and her children. She wants to learn new skills, start a small business, and become independent and self-reliant. She wants to give her children the opportunities she never had. She wanted to be happy and free. That's where we come in. We are the Burden Bearers Organization, a non-profit organization that empowers women like Nadia to overcome poverty and injustice. We believe that every woman has the potential to transform her life and her community. We provide women with training, mentoring, Together, we can be the burden bearers for women like Nadia. Together, we can empower them to create a better life for themselves and their children.
